There are two ways to enter the 28th Anniversary Run of the Tri-Cities Marathon, but only one way to enter the Relay. Relay runners can only print out an entry forum, and send it (via snail mail) to: 8820 W. Imnaha Ct, Kennewick, Wa 99336.

Marathon runners can either print out a registration form and send it to the address above, or register online (no cost).

ONLINE ENTRIES BY OCT. 18, 2008 AND MAILED ENTRIES POSTMARKED BY OCT. 16, 2008 - $55 per individual includes marathon shirt; $20 per individual for each relay team member includes relay shirt.

ENTRIES POSTMARKED AFTER OCT. 16, 2008 - $55 per individual except the marathon shirt will NOT be included; $20 per relay team individual except the relay shirt will NOT be included.

Due the size of our event it is just not feasible for us to have shirts for purchase. If we do not receive your entry on time you will not get a shirt - sorry!! So get your registration in on time!!

THERE IS DAY OF RACE REGISTRATION:

$60.00 per individual and marathon shirt NOT included; $25 per relay team individual and shirt NOT included.

All fees are non-refundable.

Fast Facts

28th Annual Tri-Cities Marathon and Marathon Relay

DATE: October 26, 2008

START TIME: 8:00 AM

EARLY START: ONLY available for those runners that will not finish prior to the 1 PM course closure time. Early start times are either at 6 AM or 7 AM. Be in the lobby of the Shilo Inn 15 minutes prior to your early start time.

START LOCATION: Shilo Inn, Richland Washington

FINISH LOCATION: Shilo Inn, Richland Washington

DISTANCE: 26.2 miles / 42.195 kilometers

COURSE LIMIT: 5 hours based on a 8 AM start. The course will close at 1:00 PM.

COURSE PROFILE: The course is fast and flat. This course will take you through the cities of Richland, Pasco, and Kennewick.

You’ll cross the Mighty Columbia River four times across three bridges. The entire marathon course runs along side the Mighty Columbia River. Click here for the course map.

COURSE CERTIFICATION: USTAF certified.

BOSTON MARATHON QUALIFIER!

COURSE SUPPORT: We will offer water and Lemon-lime Gatorade at each of the aid stations.

Each aid station will be about 2 miles apart along the course with an extra aid station at mile 25.

Portable toilets will be provided at each of the Marathon Relay Transition Points (about the 6.7, 13.1 and 19.8 mile points).

Massage will be available after the race from the Washington Sports Massage Association.

On course photos will be available at the finish line.

WEATHER: Temperatures are usually in the 40’s or 50’s. Sunshine, overcast, wind, light showers are all possible.

RACE PACKET PICK-UP: Pick up race packets at the Shilo Inn in Richland Washington on Saturday, October 25th, from 4 PM to 6:30 PM. Limited race packet pickup morning of race starting at about 7 AM.

PARKING: Ample parking at the Shilo Inn Rivershore.

PRE-RACE PASTA DINNER: Available at O'Callahans Restrauant in the Shilo Inn.

Marathon Relay

For those that are not up to a full marathon challenge, there is a Team Relay.

We have split the course into four legs of about 6.5 miles each.

A Relay Team consists of two, three of four members.

You decide what legs each of your Team members will run.

Team members swap at the Transition points which are located at about the 6.8, 13.1, and 19.3 mile points on the marathon course.

Awards

All Marathon finishers will receive a specially designed finisher’s medal.

Overall awards - first, second, and third place male and female finishers will receive special awards.

Age group awards - the top three finishers, male and female, in the following 5 year age groups:

Under 25; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70 plus

Award Ceromony


The awards ceremony will start at about 1:15 at the Shilo Inn and, depending on the weather, will be held either inside or outside.

Every year numerous marathon age group awards and relay team awards go unclaimed so......

Please plan on staying for the awards ceremony!!

It takes over a hundred volunteers to put on our marathon. If you would like to help us out, we would like to hear from you. If you do volunteer you will get all the good will of the runners and a volunteers shirt.

The Shilo Inn - Rivershore, is our Race Headquarters, and they have set aside a number of rooms at a special marathon rate.

To receive the discount, let the desk know you are associated with the marathon.
